Antenatal
The advantage of antentatal support from a Doula alongside that of the community midwife, is the time a Doula is able to spend with the mother. A Doula usually visits the mother twice antenatally but is always at the end of a phone and as many appointments as necessary can be arranged. Appointments at the surgery, are limited in time and very often the mother returns home realising there was an important question she forgot to ask.
As a Doula, I have access to a wide range of literature and support from other professionals to help deal with any concerns or queries you may have regarding your pregnancy or labour.
If there is specific topic you would like to find out about in greater detail at your appointment, let me know, and I will ensure that I am prepared, and carrying the right literature and or media to support that topic. Antental appointments are charged by the hour but are in no way restricted should you wish your appointment to be longer.
Antentatal appointments are available as part of the birth package, or for anyone needing more time to discuss any pregnancy and childbirth issues, or help composing a birth plan.
