Let’s Talk About the Real Motherhood Journey

This week, Mothers Matter was dedicated to shining a light on perinatal mental health. The transition to motherhood is beautiful, but it can also be incredibly challenging, and it’s okay if you’re not feeling like yourself.

On Thursday evening we held a Mum-Powerment Event, where staff of Mothers Matter shared their lived experiences and why we are so passionate to work at Mothers Matter. The room was filled with wonderful stories, thoughts shared and resilience. We are proud to empower and show parents that they are not alone.

Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) conditions include PND, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and psychosis. These are illnesses, not failings.

What can you do today?

🩷 For Yourself: Be honest about how you’re feeling. Acknowledge that you are doing your best.

🩷 For a Friend/Partner: Ask, “How are you really doing?” and listen without judgment.

🩷 With Mothers Matter: Reach out to our community home support service, counselling, support line and groups. Visit one of our parenting hubs to meet others and reduce the isolation.

We offer a safe, confidential spaces where your struggles are validated and supported. Support is strength, not a weakness.

We are here to hold space for you.
