Mothers Matter

Having a baby can be the most unsettling and emotional time of your life because for many women and men the mixed bag of feelings can be overwhelming. Tiredness, sickness, loss of identity, a feeling of your body changing can have the most dramatic impact on your physical, emotional and mental health.

Mothers Matter recognises that becoming a parent is not easy. We also appreciate it is hard to be heard within the pre and postnatal stages. That is why we exist, to make sure every woman and man within their pre and postnatal journey is Listened to, Understood and Empowered.
From the moment you find out you are expecting, through joy, uncertainty, or loss we walk with you until your little one is five.

Be kind to yourself on your journey to parenthood Pregnancy and the journey into parenthood can bring so many emotions with them. For some it feels straightforward, for others it’s complicated, painful, uncertain or exhausting. And for many, it’s all of those things at once.Conceiving, staying pregnant, feeling safe in your body and in your mind, and becoming a parent are not simple experiences. They are shaped by loss, fear, hope, love, trauma, medical journeys, relationships and expectations that often go unseen.Every story is different. Every path is valid. What matters most is kindness. Kindness to yourself on the hard days. Kindness to others when you don’t know their full story. If you’re on this journey and finding it heavy, you’re not alone. We see you, we believe you, and we are here to walk alongside you 🤍Every journey is different. ... See MoreSee Less
Big feelings can arrive suddenly. One moment you’re coping, the next it feels overwhelming, messy or too much to hold. The RAIN technique is a gentle way to slow things down when emotions feel loud. It’s not about fixing yourself or making the feelings disappear. It’s about noticing what’s there and responding with care rather than judgement.Recognise what you’re feeling, without pushing it away.Acknowledge where you are right now, even if it’s uncomfortable.Inquire with curiosity instead of criticism. And remember you are not your thoughts, your fear or your distress. You are allowed to feel what you feel. You are allowed to take things one moment at a time. And you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here, walking alongside you 🤍 ... See MoreSee Less

As we step into a new year, we’re gently reminded that change doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic to be meaningful.Embracing change can be as simple as choosing yourself a little more. Letting go of what no longer serves you. Giving yourself permission to grow at your own pace.At Mothers Matter, we know that change can feel exciting, frightening, hopeful and overwhelming all at once. And that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step.As we move into 2026, we’d love to knowWhat is one thing you’re going to change for yourself this year? This year is all about you#newyearnewme #MentalWellbeing #PerinatalMentalHealth #parentsupport #mothersmattercymru ...
